A presentation shader that kept 3D mahjong-like tiles readable as flat game pieces in an orthographic play view.

Orthographic tile presentation shader

01 · Problem

The game needed 3D tiles for spatial animation and staging, but their playable faces had to retain the fast readability of a 2D puzzle board.

02 · Design decision

Designed a shader treatment that separates the felt 2D tile face from the surrounding 3D presentation, allowing the game to keep both its board clarity and its depth-based animation.

03 · Current result

The board reads as a puzzle first while retaining the visual flexibility of a 3D scene.
